National Chiropractic Health Month

As experts in body mechanics, Chiropractors, like Dr. Scott Jutte of Dickson Chiropractic (a great Chiropractic Care Center in Tennessee), always wants you to be active, to be moving and to enjoy life.

Winter means colder weather and when people are cold they tend to slow down and not do as much.

The inviting warmth of sitting by the fire (or just sitting on a couch in a heated room) is always tempting.  But you can make your own warmth by moving.

Movement is key, Exercise is better

We at Dickson Chiropractic want you to be healthy.  The body was made to move, not to sit still all day.  While your job may require you to sit or stand in one place for long hours, you should make it a point to get up at least once an hour and move around.  Walk around the office, get a drink from the water cooler, or physically take that memo to a co-worker.

When you are off work take 30 minutes to do a little exercise.  It may be too cold to walk outside, depending on where you are, but take a lap or two around a gym, on a treadmill, or at the mall.

Stay in Alignment

With all this great movement you still want to make sure your body, neck, and spine are in good alignment. When your spine, the super-highway of all information to the rest of your body, is out of alignment, that super-highway isn’t so super anymore.  It is like a traffic jam at rush hour, everything can slow to a crawl, nothing gets done and you can barely function.

At that point, bad things can happen and sickness can take hold.

Chiropractic Care

When you don’t feel well, you also tend to slow down.  Rest is important so your body can help heal itself, but opioids/drugs are not necessarily the solution you need.  There are times when medicine is something that can help the body, but in a lot of cases the body can handle the treatment by itself IF the brain and body can communicate.

When you are out of alignment, communication breaks down.
